Khemosabi++++// 5/14/67-3/1/01

Goodby Old Friend, I sadly mourn The absence of Your graceful form.

The proud held head, With nostrils wide. The gentle eyes With fire inside.

Your dancing feet, And flying tail Coming to meet My beckoning hail.

No more will ring Your clarion call, To greet your Ladies One and all.

But now you graze With your own band, Celestial meadows Without end.

Rest Old Friend, I'm sure you know, That in my heart You live again.

-- Jeanie of Schell Ranch Arabians
"I have had the privilege of feeding him "special Khemo carrots" many times over the last 12 years, and the even greater privilege of having two of his daughters and two Grandkhids here at home now."

The Khemosabi Connection
(site by Paul Husband, son of Khemo's breeders, Dr. Bert and Ruth Husband. Paul showed him the first time, as a yearling in the spring of 1968, and the last time on exhibition at Scottsdale in 1997.)

Khemo was more than a champion Arabian, he was a breed entire to himself. I am sooo glad that we decided to breed this line. If I ever did anything right in my life this was it. Khemosabi, we salute you. May the King live long in our memories and hearts. -- Jewel Mist
The kindness, beauty, athleticism and versatility he himself exhibited and passed to his foals was truly remarkable. -- Tara
He brought me into the wonderful world of Arabians and for that I will be eternally greatful - thank you Khemo. -- Deb
For a moment the Arabian world has stopped to mourn one of its beloved great ones. The uniting of so many hearts and minds is truly a tribute to a legend. Run with the greats that have greeted you, Khemosabi, and we will see you again. -- Cheryl
Dedication to Khemosabi -- Ashley
We all love you Khemosabi. You will always be in my heart.
I knew it would come, but I still wasn't ready. Khemo personally helped me several times... just talking to him was such a joy. I've been so honored to see him once or twice a year for the past decade, and even though he'll live on in all his MANY get in the world, and has made a mark in the breed that will not soon, if ever be eclipsed, I will miss the old man more than I can say.

I'm glad our Khemo son is home with us today, or I'd have had to drive out to see him just to remind myself that we have such a wonderful legacy of the grand old man who was born in OUR back yard. I've often told him that his contract with us requires him to live at least as long as his father... I hope I can be with him in another 20 (or 30) years when his time comes. -- Karen KpM Cornerstone Arabians

KHEMOSABI, You won our hearts. Rest in peace. -- Ann
I went to the Nationals four years ago to look for a stallion to breed my mare to. I knew I was only going to breed once so I was going to get the stallion of my dreams. I looked, took pictures, collected pedigrees and when I got home and sorted out my top choices, they were all Khemosabi get or grandget! I think that says a lot for Khemo. He puts his special mark on all his progeny. -- Pam
